Another ordinary year starts
It has been a while since I produced any content on this blog last time. Till today it is already 18 February. This is another new year that has started.
During these two months, I went to hospital again at the end of January because of my consistent coughing situation and was diagnosed with bronchitis. Luckily and strangely, it was not as crazy as I thought. The doctor gave me some antibiotics and told me I can do everything as normal, including playing Muay Thai and running.
With that being said, I continued playing Muay Thai the day after I came back from the hospital. Actually I had been playing Muay Thai and doing other exercises as normal regardless of the coughing situation before the hospital anyway.
When I was in the hospital, there was a slight incident that I almost called Chinese embassy. Apparently, according to the hospital record, I came to them 6 years ago. They dug out the record and said the record 6 years ago and my record last year have the same passport number. Eventually that turned out to be another person with the same name, and they didn’t pay enough attention and reused that person’s profile when I came last year.
In February, I observed Chinese New Year in Thailand with my cousin. We went to Ayutthaya for the New Year Eve and came back to Bangkok on the New Year. It was an experience for us to observe Chinese New Year in Thailand. Both of us think it is actually more festive here than in China. When we came back to Bangkok, we took the train to Hua Lamphong and walked to Yaowarat road. That really was the busiest Chinese New Year I have ever seen in the most recent 10 years. Everything I can see in front of me was red. It was really an interesting experience for me.
This Valentine’s Day also marked my second year in Thailand starts. In fact, I only realised it when I wrote this blog. I came to Thailand on the last Valentine’s Day, without any knowledge about Thailand. On the same day this year, I worked as usual and went to my Thai language school. The school nicely gave me chocolate and put two hearts on my shirt. I also got a Valentine’s Day letter from my Muay Thai gym this Saturday. Looking back this year, it was eventful and satisfying.
Moving ahead, I probably should have some new year resolution, but for some reason, now I just want things to work out naturally. I actually like my current state of wanting nothing desperately, but working towards where I want to be.
This is why I call it another ordinary year. I don’t see it bad, instead I think it’s good. Now this another ordinary year starts. I am eager to see what awaits me ahead.
