A sweet year end
Two days later, I will fly back to China for the first time of the year since I moved to Thailand.
It has been an eventful year, with some ups and downs, but generally 2023 is reaching the end on a positive note. These moments are especially memorial to me:
- Receiving postcards and Thai textbooks from co-workers because they know I love these;
- One of the clients that I considered difficult, in their last trip to Bangkok, told me how they appreciated us and showed their trust in me. When I firstly joined, I seriously considered if I am not a good fit with their personality and I should let others do it, or it would be the same for everyone, so someone must do it. I am glad we built the trust through our dedicated work;
- My Thai teacher gave me a persimmon, and we wished each other a happy new year. It is a process of exchanging one true heart with another. I feel very lucky that I met her and chose her as my teacher.
Persimmon is a fruit that I ate in childhood. It is a nostalgic feeling to eat it again after so many years in a different country. The sweetness on the tongue concluded my 2023.
